A BetMGM user has won the largest jackpot in the history of iGaming in the United States

An anonymous player from New Jersey made headlines on August 19 after placing a $200 bet on the Fruit Blaster slot at BetMGM online casino. The player won a staggering $6.4 million, marking the largest jackpot in the history of the iGaming industry in the United States.
While the winner has not commented on their plans for the prize, BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt expressed excitement over the historic win, stating that both the casino operator and "one lucky player" have made their mark in iGaming history.
The progressive jackpot, known as The Big One, is notable for being available across multiple slots, including Fruit Blaster, and spans several online casinos within the BetMGM network, including Borgata, Wheel of Fortune Casino, and Party Casino.
In February 2024, The Big One reached $4 million, setting a record at that time. The jackpot continued to grow over the following six months, culminating in the August 19 win. "It was a summer full of anticipation as we watched the progressive jackpot soar to record levels," Greenblatt noted.
Angus Nisbet, BetMGM's Vice President of Gaming, congratulated the winner on their historic achievement, stating, "It's moments like these that make progressive jackpots especially thrilling."
Following the payout, the jackpot was reset, and as of August 21, it stood at $1.2 million.
BetMGM operates online casinos in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. In 2023, these platforms paid out a total of $138 million to players, a 32% increase compared to 2022.
In a separate note, a rare card combination at a Las Vegas casino netted a visitor $423,000.
