Genting Malaysia, the casino operator, reported significant improvements in the group's financial performance for the third quarter of 2025
At Resorts World Genting, located in the Genting Highlands, total revenue from the casino and hotel increased by 19% to $474 million (37.1 billion rubles). According to company management, gross gaming revenue in the VIP category saw a quarterly increase of 21%. Hotel occupancy rates at the complex reached 98%, with 66% of guests being locals and 34% international tourists.
Positive trends were also observed in other markets. Revenue from casinos and hotels in the UK and Egypt grew by 2% to $132 million (10.3 billion rubles), bolstered by the group's acquisition of Genting Casino Stratford in London. In the US and the Bahamas, revenue surged by 64% to $187 million (14.6 billion rubles), primarily due to the merger with Empire Resorts.
One of the factors contributing to the positive results in the third quarter of 2025 was the company's opportunity to obtain a full commercial license for a casino in New York. A final decision on the application is expected on December 1. Management has already begun preparatory work, including planned renovations of hotel rooms and reallocating staff from Resorts World New York from another casino. If successful, the company aims to start generating revenue from the new establishment as early as July next year.
It is worth noting that Genting New York LLC has presented a plan for the construction of a new casino in New York.
