A Chicago resident, who requested to remain anonymous, has hit a significant jackpot at the 24-hour Hard Rock Casino in Gary, Indiana. This establishment, owned by the renowned gaming brand Hard Rock, witnessed its largest progressive jackpot win since opening on May 14.
According to reports, the guest from the Windy City visited the casino to play a slot machine called Jinse Dao. While there are six such machines in Gary, he chose the one that multiplied his initial bet by an astonishing 117,517 times. He started with a deposit of just $2.50. After spinning the reels just once, he was greeted with the message announcing the progressive jackpot win, which totaled an impressive $293,791.80.
Matt Schuffert, the president of Hard Rock Casino in Northern Indiana, was among the first to congratulate the winner. "Since our grand opening, we have continued to receive positive feedback from guests about the wide variety of new and popular slot machines in our state-of-the-art gaming area. We are always thrilled when a customer wins big, whether it's on our new slots or at the table games. Records show that in August alone, Hard Rock Casino paid out over $10 million in jackpots to slot winners," Schuffert stated.
It's also important to note that, according to federal tax law, a jackpot is defined as a single win of $1,200 or more.
Previously, we reported on a visitor to the prestigious Venetian Resort in Las Vegas who won over $1.5 million after a $5 bet on the Wheel of Fortune Wild Red Sevens machine. Additionally, a game of video poker at the Cosmopolitan Casino netted another player $1 million.
