Caesars Entertainment has officially opened its $650 million resort, Caesars Virginia, in Danville. The grand opening was celebrated with a lavish event attended by local leaders, community representatives, and various activists.
The new facility features an 8,300-square-foot gaming area, along with a 320-room hotel, entertainment venues, and restaurants. The resort is expected to drive significant economic growth in the region.
The opening festivities included a parade featuring race cars and luxury vehicles, as well as a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Caesars executives, including CEO Tom Reeg and COO Anthony Carano. Notable guests included Chief Michelle Hicks of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and local officials.
The gaming area can accommodate 2,500 guests and offers a selection of 1,500 slot machines. Caesars Virginia will also host 79 table games and a World Series of Poker (WSOP) poker room.
The resort boasts an extensive spa and 4,600 square feet dedicated to conference rooms. Guests can enjoy a variety of dining options, including Ramsay’s Kitchen by Gordon Ramsay.
Chris Albrecht, CEO of Caesars Virginia, commented on the opening, stating, "This has been an impressive construction project that we've been watching unfold over the past few years. I am very proud that our company has finally opened the doors to this beautiful venue."
Notably, Caesars anticipates a boost in revenue from Taylor Swift's concerts in New Orleans.
