A resident of northern Louisiana, Keith Chamblin from Calhoun, found himself unable to sleep early one morning and made a fateful decision to head to Harlow’s Casino Resort & Spa in Greenville, Mississippi. As a result, he hit a jackpot worth $3,257,765.67 (₽268.8 million) on the IGT Wheel of Fortune Triple Gold $1 slot machine.
The casino reported that luck had been on Chamblin's side long before his big win. That same night, he had already secured six smaller wins that required manual payouts from staff. However, the real breakthrough came on the iconic Wheel of Fortune machine, which remains one of the most popular brands in the industry and has made more casino visitors millionaires than any other game.
The 38-year-old Chamblin, who describes himself as a billiards player and guitarist, commented on his victory: “I’ve won a jackpot in Shreveport on my birthday before, but this is something else. As soon as I walked into the high-stakes area, luck started following me.”
As a regular at Harlow’s, Chamblin emphasized that for him, the casino experience is primarily about enjoyment. He added, “When I come to play, I assume I’ll spend all the money I brought with me. Any win is just a nice bonus.”
Chamblin decided not to take the entire jackpot in one lump sum. Instead, he opted for annual payments of $168,000 (₽13.9 million), which will be disbursed to him over the next 20 years.
Despite the sudden influx of winnings, Chamblin stressed that his life will not change significantly: “There have been times when I had neither a job nor a car. So I know what it’s like to be without resources. Money won’t change me, but it’s always nice to have some in the bank.”
In related news, a couple from California recently won a substantial jackpot at Pechanga Resort Casino.
