The Jamul Indian Village Development Corporation (JIVDC) has announced plans to expand its casino with the addition of a new luxury boutique hotel, which is currently under construction.
The 16-story building will feature 200 rooms, including 52 suites. Casino visitors will have direct access to the hotel via a climate-controlled pedestrian bridge. The complex will also include a six-story parking garage with 350 spaces, a restaurant spanning approximately 4,800 square feet with panoramic views, banquet and conference rooms, retail spaces, a fitness center, and a spa. A rooftop terrace will be equipped with a pool, changing cabanas, and a bar.
Erica M. Pinto, chairwoman of JIVDC, stated, "In just a few short years since our opening, I am proud that we can leverage our success in managing the Jamul Casino to build a luxury hotel. This will allow us to effectively expand our market presence, increase funding for fire protection services throughout San Diego County, and create 125 new permanent jobs, along with an additional 1,000 jobs during construction. The economic impact of the hotel will have far-reaching and long-term positive implications for our tribe, the state, and the local economy."
According to the design concept, the building is intended to resemble a jewel box floating among the Jamul mountains. The owners aim to provide guests with luxurious services that will redefine the hospitality market in the region.
Jamul Casino opened in October 2016, creating 1,200 permanent jobs. JIVDC utilizes the revenues and resources from the casino to fund various initiatives, projects, and services that benefit the local community.
