A Massachusetts resident, Christina Wilson, has won a staggering $1 million (over 93 million rubles) not once, but twice in just 10 weeks, thanks to instant lottery games.
Wilson claimed her second prize at the Massachusetts Lottery headquarters on May 1. She played the 100X Cash game, spending only $10 (931 rubles) on her ticket, which she purchased at Family Food Mart in Mansfield. The store received a $10,000 (931,250 rubles) bonus for selling the winning scratch card.
The 100X Cash game features several major prizes, with the Massachusetts Lottery reporting that the top prize of $4 million (372.5 million rubles) has odds of 1 in 5,376,000. The chance of winning the $1 million prize is 1 in 1,612,800.
Wilson's first major win came from the Lifetime Millions instant lottery on February 23, 2024. She spent $50 (4,656 rubles) on a ticket at Dubs’s in Mansfield, which also received a $10,000 (931,250 rubles) bonus. According to the Massachusetts Lottery, the odds of winning the $1 million Lifetime Millions prize are 1 in 8,400,000.
In both instances, Wilson opted for a lump-sum payment of $650,000 (60.5 million rubles). She used part of her first winnings to purchase a new SUV, while she plans to save her second prize.
In the U.S., lottery scratch cards can be purchased at gas stations and retail stores, with some states offering online ticket sales.
