A native of Estonia has won a record jackpot of €6.6 million at the online casino Optibet
The lucky winner hit the jackpot while playing the globally popular slot game Mega Moolah. That evening, he had spent a total of €30 on gaming, with a single bet of just €3.75 securing his life-changing win. Notably, the odds of hitting the jackpot were 1 in 185 million.
"Until this moment in my life, I had never been a winner; I had no previous winnings in my career. This victory is a huge surprise. Yes, I don’t visit casinos very often, but this time I got incredibly lucky," the ecstatic winner shared.
According to the newly minted millionaire, he plans to use the winnings for personal needs. Firstly, he had been denied a loan for purchasing an apartment, making housing a pressing issue for him. Secondly, this substantial sum will now allow him to gain independence from financial institutions and pursue the construction of his dream home.
"My project is already prepared. Now, the path to its realization has opened up for me. I am truly happy," the Estonian expressed.
It’s worth noting that this win ranks as the second-largest jackpot ever won by an Estonian. The top spot remains held by a 2010 victory when a ticket for Viking Loto brought a fellow countryman a record €10.8 million.
In related news, Boyd Gaming, a gambling company, reported that it paid out approximately $30 million in jackpots in May alone. The largest payout was recorded at the Suncoast Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, amounting to $52,000.
