A Survation poll has revealed that a majority of Britons anticipate significant reforms in the gambling sector
The task was assigned to Survation, a London-based agency specializing in polling and market research. The aim was to gauge public opinion on potential changes to existing gambling laws and restrictions. The online survey included responses from 1,009 adults across various demographic groups in the United Kingdom.
Among the findings, a significant majority of respondents believe that individuals wishing to place bets exceeding £100 per month should undergo affordability checks and face limits on the maximum stake allowed.
Last year, the Observer reported that some major bookmakers had warned the government against imposing excessive restrictions, arguing that such measures could drive players to offshore sites.
The upcoming White Paper will represent the most significant overhaul of gambling laws since 2005, with its publication having been postponed multiple times in the past.
