A guest at the Yaamavá Resort and Casino in Highland, California, celebrated Independence Day on July 4th in spectacular fashion. An elderly resident from Riverside, who remains unnamed, placed a $30 bet (approximately 2,646 rubles) while playing Fortune Pai Gow and walked away with a staggering prize of $1,517,211 (around 133.8 million rubles).
The lucky winner made two bets: a main wager of $25 (about 2,205 rubles) and an additional $5 (around 441 rubles). According to a press release from the casino, "The winning combination was a seven-card straight flush, and the $5 progressive bet resulted in an incredible bonus payout."
Fortune Pai Gow is a blend of the traditional Chinese card game and American poker. Players must arrange their cards into two hands—five cards for one hand and two for the other. If the player's hands rank higher than the dealer's, they win. Additionally, Fortune Pai Gow offers a bonus bet: an extra $5 gives players a chance to win the Envy Bonus, as per the regulations set by the California Bureau of Gambling Control.
Yaamavá Resort and Casino features 7,200 slot machines and 150 table games, along with five VIP rooms for high-limit play. The complex also includes a concert hall, a 17-story hotel, a spa, and various other amenities.
In 2023, the Yaamavá Resort and Casino was awarded "Best Casino Outside of Las Vegas" in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.
Meanwhile, a casino visitor in Luton turned a minimum bet into a jackpot of £46,000.
