Affinity Interactive has announced the sale of Rail City Casino in Sparks, Nevada
Rail City features a 2,230-square-foot casino with approximately 415 slot machines and several snack bars. The venue also includes video poker machines, a keno lounge, and a sportsbook.
The acquisition of Rail City by Truckee Gaming marks the latest in a series of gaming property transactions in Sparks, located just outside Reno. Last year, Century Casinos announced its purchase of Sparks Nugget for $195 million, which included a 50% stake in the real estate company that owns the property. In August of last year, Legends Bay Casino opened in Sparks, becoming the first gaming establishment built from the ground up in three decades.
Sparks is just a few miles from the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, and the region is attracting investments from numerous well-known tech companies looking to benefit from lower taxes. As a result, this area of Nevada is experiencing growth, and gaming industry analysts are optimistic about demographic trends.
Gaming properties in the Reno-Tahoe area are selling for significantly lower prices than those on the Las Vegas Strip, making the region an attractive option for buyers looking to start or expand their business in Nevada. Caesars Entertainment is the largest operator in the area.
Affinity Interactive still owns several gaming establishments, including Buffalo Bill’s and Primm Valley in Nevada, as well as Silver Sevens Casino in Las Vegas. The company also owns Mark Twain and St. Jo Frontier in Missouri, and Lakeside Casino and Hotel in Iowa.
In related news, Bryan Adams is set to perform at the opening of The Arena at Pickering Casino Resort.
