An unidentified resident of Australia has won a multi-million dollar jackpot in the Oz Lotto lottery
Company representative Het McIntyre urged all participants to check their tickets. He remarked, “It’s possible that this mysterious winner will wake up and head to work, unaware that they’ve won a massive jackpot. I can’t imagine how their plans for the evening and the rest of their life will change with a prize of this magnitude.”
The winning ticket was purchased at the Broadway Newsagency kiosk in New South Wales. The winner correctly picked all seven main numbers: 21, 17, 43, 25, 12, 18, and 14, as well as three supplementary numbers: 15, 42, and 24.
According to lottery rules, the player has six years to claim their prize. Statistics show that unclaimed winnings are not uncommon. By the end of 2024, the total amount of unclaimed prizes reached $13.68 million (₽1.11 billion).
It’s worth noting that different regions in Australia have varying rules regarding the validity of winnings. For instance, in Victoria, lottery prizes do not expire and can be claimed at any time. However, most regions impose a six-year limit for claiming prizes.
The Lott advises all lottery participants to register their tickets in the official app. This ensures automatic crediting of any prizes and notifications about draw results.
Meanwhile, a Cash 5 lottery participant from North Carolina has also won a significant jackpot.
