The application process for the SBC Summit North America First Pitch startup competition is now open. The event will take place on May 10 at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in New Jersey and will be part of the Emerging Tech & Investment conference. Applications will be accepted until March 31.
The SBC Summit North America First Pitch offers startups in the gaming and sports betting sectors the opportunity to showcase their business projects to leading experts and investors. An independent panel of judges, assembled by SBC over the next month, will select five American initiatives that meet the eligibility criteria and present the most innovative ideas to participate in the competition.
The winner will receive a prize package valued at over $35,000, aimed at supporting the development and growth plans of the top startup. This package includes services from Eilers & Krejcik Gaming, a research and consulting firm, Vegas Kings, a gaming design and development agency, as well as advertising from SBC Media across various platforms.
To qualify, startups must have been established no earlier than 2020 and focus on sports betting or gaming. They should also be seeking investments of at least $500,000 and have raised no more than $5 million in external funding.
Sue Schneider, Vice President of Development and Strategy at SBC, stated: “Gaming and sports betting are incredible industries to witness growth in. This competition is special because it allows us at SBC to support all the bright minds who are clever enough to come up with ways to improve our industry in one way or another. This competition has proven to be very successful in connecting startups with the right people in the industry, allowing competitors to shine during their presentations in a room full of potential clients and investors. While there is a prize fund associated with this opportunity, I believe this aspect is invaluable.”
