The government of the Altai Krai has approved the construction of a second entertainment complex in the "Siberian Coin" gaming zone, according to TASS, citing regional governor Viktor Tomenko.
Tomenko announced that authorities will allocate a special plot of land for the development, which will include a casino with a hotel and other facilities. However, detailed plans for the entertainment complex have not been disclosed.
"The project we are discussing is estimated to cost 3.5 billion rubles. It will be implemented in several phases and has received support at the regional level. The creation of another complex will double the number of visitors and enhance all related metrics, including job creation and tax revenue," TASS quoted the official as saying.
Previously, it was reported that the project was initiated by top executives from the Altai Palace casino, Alexey Sakvarelidze and Anton Bykov. The gaming establishment is planned to be built in two phases, with a hall featuring 300 gaming machines and 10 gaming tables expected to open by 2021.
The "Siberian Coin" gaming zone operates as part of a federal project. The Altai Palace casino has been in operation there since 2014, featuring 32 tables and 150 gaming machines. According to the governor, tax contributions since the casino's opening have exceeded 200 million rubles.
