At the end of September, BGaming hosted its fourth annual "Hackathon," a corporate event designed to bring together employees in search of innovative ideas that could transform the iGaming industry. Over the course of two days, teams worked diligently to develop new concepts, tools, and features.
The Hackathon turned into a true marathon for creative minds, with 11 teams of 3-6 members each coming together to create a prototype of a new game and demonstrate its viability within a limited timeframe. Participants hailed from various departments, including development, marketing, sales, and HR. The competition featured several key categories.
According to BGaming producer Vasily Pavlyuchenko, the true value of such events lies in the synergy and freedom of thought they foster: "A great project isn't always the most technologically advanced. Sometimes, it's simply an idea that makes everyone say, 'Wow, that's cool!' It's not just about innovation; it's also about the ability to turn a concept into a tangible product."
Each team presented their game, accompanied by a presentation that included audience analysis, mechanics, and unique features. The standout projects were distinguished not only by their originality but also by their strategic approach, potential for implementation, and emotional depth.
BGaming's Product Director, Yulia Alexeeva, emphasized that the Hackathon showcased the talent of the company's employees: "Every year, we are reminded of how creative our team members are. Their projects are well thought out, targeted at specific audiences, and evoke genuine emotions. This proves that we have not just specialists working here, but true idea creators."
Winners were determined through a combination of jury voting and public choice. Participants received cash prizes, and the best ideas will be refined and may eventually become part of BGaming's future releases.
It’s worth noting that BGaming was recognized as the Best Slot Developer of the Year at the SBC Awards 2025.
