MGM China Holdings Ltd, the operator of Macau's MGM Macau and MGM Cotai casinos, has announced a pay raise for the majority of its employees, effective March 25 of this year.
In a recent press release, the company expressed its gratitude for the dedication and contributions of its staff. Approximately 99% of the company's 12,000 employees will benefit from the improved financial conditions.
MGM stated that team members earning less than 16,000 patacas (approximately $2,000) per month will receive a standard adjustment of 600 patacas (about $75). Employees with higher salaries will see an increase of 2.5% to 6.5%, depending on their base salary and eligibility for the raise.
Company Chairperson Pansy Ho Chiu King emphasized MGM's appreciation for its team, which continuously enhances products and services through innovation. She added that the operator is pleased to share the fruits of their efforts and the recovery of Macau's economy with its employees.
Earlier this month, MGM China also announced a discretionary bonus for around 95% of its staff, equivalent to one month's salary, to be paid ahead of the Chinese New Year on February 10. Similar bonuses have been announced by five other casino operators in Macau.
Additionally, Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd has revealed plans to raise salaries for approximately 98% of its employees starting April 1, 2024. This increase will apply to workers hired before January 1, across various positions, including senior management. "Galaxy Entertainment would like to thank all team members for their efforts and contributions over the past year and looks forward to working together to achieve new successes," the operator stated.
