Employees at the Tbilisi branch of Evolution Gaming staged protests outside the company's office, with around 400 workers demanding a 50% salary increase and improved working conditions.
According to OC Media, the employees are dissatisfied with their low wages, which hover around $140, and are calling for a raise. They have also voiced concerns about their working environment, citing issues such as unreliable air conditioning and frequent insect bites.
Following the initial protests, the company experienced layoffs, prompting strikers to demand the reinstatement of dismissed workers.
Evolution Gaming's management has stated that they are open to dialogue but emphasized that both parties must operate within the framework of labor laws. Under Georgian law, employees are required to notify their employer and the Ministry of Labor of their intention to strike 21 days in advance.
