In 2021, Entain significantly increased its revenue, nearing pre-crisis levels. This was announced in a press release by the company's CEO, Jette Nygaard-Andersen.
"The results once again demonstrate that financial growth is embedded in the very model of Entain. We set ambitious goals and achieve them through hard work, exceptional talent, patented technologies, and extensive operational capabilities. At the same time, we continuously enhance our customer service, adapt to new trends and market dynamics, and explore various products and markets," said Nygaard-Andersen.
According to the report, the brand's revenue for 2021 reached $6.13 billion, an 8% increase compared to 2020. Gross profit was reported at $3.23 billion, while EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) hit $1.17 billion, reflecting growth of 6% and 5% respectively from the previous year. After taxes, Entain's net profit exceeded $366 million.
Much of this success can be attributed to the growth of the online segment, which saw a 12% increase in net revenue in 2021. Retail operations are also gradually returning to pre-crisis levels.
Jette Nygaard-Andersen expressed her gratitude to all employees for their hard work: "I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to each of my colleagues. You exemplify dedication, hard work, and professionalism. It is this commitment that has enabled the company to achieve such results."
Entain also noted that BetMGM is poised to continue its active development in the U.S. market, where it currently holds the second position in terms of sports betting volume and online casino turnover. Its market share in the fourth quarter of 2021 was 23%.
Additionally, it is worth mentioning that Scientific Games has rebranded itself as Light & Wonder.
