Online Betting Guide (OLBG), a British community platform for sports betting, has released the results of a survey involving 1,000 gamblers. The poll revealed that four out of ten people have never visited a land-based casino.
The reasons players prefer iGaming vary. Twenty-three percent of online users worry that something might go wrong when visiting physical casinos, while 22% are concerned about looking out of place. Additionally, 20% of respondents prefer not to travel or mention that they have no one to accompany them. Among those who have visited traditional establishments, 15% have done so only once or twice in their lives.
A representative from Online Betting Guide commented, "Habits are constantly changing. Online gaming sites are becoming increasingly popular, and their counterparts must evolve to meet new demands. If they fail to do so, they risk falling behind as more people around the world shift to online experiences."
According to the survey, 43% of players find it too difficult to access land-based casinos, while 32% feel more confident behind a screen. Only 16% of respondents have the courage to engage in offline gambling. Among cities where residents expressed the most desire to play in physical establishments, London topped the list at 49%, followed by Las Vegas at 31% and Paris at 11%.
Eighty-three percent of respondents noted that the Internet has fundamentally changed how people gamble. Six out of ten participants would not be surprised if the future of gambling is tied to virtual casinos that simulate traditional gaming venues.
The most popular games identified in the survey were lotteries (53%), sports betting (52%), and scratch cards (41%). Forty percent of respondents prefer skill-based entertainment, such as sports betting and poker, while 16% are willing to rely on luck in games like roulette.
