Gambling revenues in Lithuania rose to €116 million in the first half of 2024
Online category A slots (games with unlimited payouts) emerged as the standout performers in the first half of the year, generating €53.5 million (₽5.03 billion) in revenue—more than any other segment in both the online and land-based markets in Lithuania. Customer spending on these machines also reached a record high of €627.7 million (₽59.08 billion), up 6.2%.
Revenue from online category B slots, which have a maximum bet of €0.30 (₽28), remained unchanged at €1.8 million (₽169.44 million) during the first half of the year. Meanwhile, the revenue from table games saw an 11.7% increase compared to the previous year, reaching €6.7 million (₽630.69 million).
Sports betting volume rose by 2.4% to €289.0 million (₽27.2 billion), with bookmakers' revenues increasing by 1.6% to €19.3 million (₽1.81 billion).
In the land-based casino segment, revenue decreased by 4.4% to €34.7 million (₽3.26 billion), coinciding with a 5.6% drop in player bets to €217.8 million (₽20.5 billion).
Category B machines became the most popular product in retail markets, generating €14.4 million (₽1.35 billion) in revenue, although the betting volume fell by 6.5% to €92.1 million (₽8.66 billion).
For category A slots, revenue increased by 5.3% year-on-year, reaching €7.9 million (₽743.65 million), while betting volume grew by 4.7% to €31.8 million (₽2.99 billion).
The Gambling Control Authority also released lottery data, showing that revenue in this segment amounted to €32.7 million (₽3.07 billion), up 6.2%. Ticket sales rose by 4% compared to the previous year, totaling €70.9 million (₽6.67 billion). The total payout to winners increased by 2.3% to €38.1 million (₽3.58 billion).
As a result, the country's gambling industry paid taxes totaling €37.6 million (₽3.53 billion), with €24.1 million (₽2.26 billion) coming from casino operators and €13.5 million (₽1.27 billion) from lottery providers.
Meanwhile, the net gaming revenue of Entain increased by 6%.
