GiG Receives Approval in Pennsylvania
The license to operate as an interactive entertainment manufacturer was issued by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB), granting the provider access to one of the largest iGaming markets in the United States.
According to a PGCB report published in August 2022, the state's revenue for July reached $429.1 million, with sports betting contributing $25.4 million. While this figure remains relatively modest, the organization reported a 28% year-over-year increase in profits. Furthermore, iGaming revenue totaled $98.6 million, marking an 11% rise.
Claudio Caruana, GiG's Chief Legal Officer, emphasized that Pennsylvania will play a "key role" in the company's growth plans in North America. He stated, "The addition of a license to operate in Pennsylvania to our ever-expanding list of supported markets is a testament to GiG's commitment to regulated territories. We firmly believe that achieving progress of this kind is fundamental to sustainable and prosperous growth in the online gaming industry."
According to the official, Pennsylvania will be instrumental in the company's expansion strategy in North America. The group notes that its partners can now leverage all of GiG's innovative technologies in the region.
Currently, the provider serves 26 regulated markets, with management indicating that an additional nine applications are in progress. Notably, GiG's PlayStar casino is now operational in New Jersey.
