Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut has announced that renowned chef Gordon Ramsay will open a signature Hell’s Kitchen restaurant on its premises. The establishment is expected to begin operations this summer, allowing guests to indulge in Ramsay's signature dishes, including the famous Beef Wellington. The restaurant will accommodate nearly 260 diners and feature a private dining room for 40, along with a chef's counter.
Last year, in celebration of Foxwoods' 30th anniversary, the casino hinted at a collaboration with a yet-to-be-named celebrity chef. Now, a year later, President and CEO Jason Guyot has revealed that it is indeed Gordon Ramsay. Guyot praised Ramsay as the best chef in the world, stating, "As the premier resort casino in the Northeast, we are always looking for new and unique ways to enhance our guests' experiences."
Ramsay, for whom this restaurant will be the sixth in the U.S. and the first in New England, expressed his excitement about the upcoming opening: "I am thrilled to introduce Gordon Ramsay's Hell’s Kitchen at Foxwoods Resort Casino in the heart of New England."
Meanwhile, the U.S. gaming market is evolving, with increasing competition prompting many casinos, including Foxwoods, to realize that gaming alone is no longer sufficient to attract customers and drive profitability. The upcoming restaurant is just one aspect of this "restructuring." In 2022, Foxwoods opened a new High Stakes Bingo Hall with 2,200 seats, followed by the Rainmaker Expo Center, where Ramsay promoted his new venture. Additionally, a new gaming area is set to open by the end of summer, sharing a portion of the resort's $85 million investment (approximately 7.2 billion rubles) with the restaurant.
In related news, Tilman Fertitta, owner of Golden Nugget, is reportedly in talks to acquire the NFL's Washington Commanders.
