International Game Technology (IGT), a global leader in gaming machines, has released its April report highlighting some of the largest payouts of the month. The spotlight was on players who hit jackpots exceeding $1 million, with many other casino visitors also enjoying significant wins.
Among the machines that delivered these jackpots were IGT's flagship progressive slots: Wheel of Fortune, Megabucks, Powerbucks, and Whitney Houston. In April 2025, these games helped five casino patrons become instant millionaires.
IGT first introduced its Wide Area Progressive Jackpot system in 1986. Since then, Megabucks machines have paid out over $3.6 billion, resulting in more than 1,200 guests becoming dollar millionaires.
One of the largest jackpots of the month was won by a visitor at Cocopah Casino & Resort in Somerton, Arizona, who took home $1,709,369 from the Wheel of Fortune High Roller machine.
On April 8, in New Brunswick, Canada, the Wheel of Fortune Shimmering Sapphires slot awarded a player a payout of 1,172,773 CAD (approximately $865,000). Another significant win occurred on April 12 at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, where a player won $1,515,034 on the Whitney Houston slot.
An even more impressive jackpot was won the following day at Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California, where a player hit the Megabucks Mega Vault for $4,178,889.
Another substantial payout took place on April 22 at Harlow’s Casino Resort in Greenville, Mississippi, where a player won $3,257,765 on the Wheel of Fortune machine.
Additionally, a Las Vegas casino visitor recently won a jackpot playing Pai Gow poker.
