The Pennsylvania gaming regulator has released the financial results for the market in October 2023. Total gaming revenue reached $483 million (approximately 42.7 billion rubles), marking a 1.4% increase from September and a 7.3% rise compared to October 2022.
Land-based slot machines accounted for nearly 40% of all gaming revenue for the month, generating $192.5 million (around 17 billion rubles). This figure represents a 3.3% decline from the previous year. Revenue from land-based table games, however, saw a 2% increase, reaching $81.5 million (over 7 billion rubles) compared to 2022.
In the realm of iGaming, total revenue from slots, table games, and poker hit $154.8 million (13.7 billion rubles). This is a 24.3% increase from October last year, although it falls short of the record $159.5 million (14.1 billion rubles) set in September 2023. The primary driver of this annual growth was a 27.2% rise in online slot revenue, which reached $109.8 million (9.7 billion rubles). Revenue from online table games also increased to $42.6 million (3.8 billion rubles), a rise of 19.4%. Poker generated $2.3 million (over 203 million rubles), down 5.8% from the previous year.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National continues to dominate the Pennsylvania market by a significant margin, with total iGaming revenue of $62.2 million (5.5 billion rubles), of which $41.9 million (3.7 billion rubles) came from slot machines. Valley Forge Casino Resort secured second place with revenue of $35.4 million (3.1 billion rubles), followed by Rivers Casino Philadelphia with $29.3 million (2.6 billion rubles).
The main catalyst for the overall growth in Pennsylvania's financial performance was sports betting. The volume of bets in October set a new record, reaching $829 million (73.3 billion rubles). Revenue from sports betting amounted to $48.2 million (4.3 billion rubles), an 18.8% increase from last year, with $43.1 million (3.8 billion rubles) coming from online wagers.
Meanwhile, Macau reported gaming tax revenues of 51.55 billion patacas from January to October.
