International Entertainment, a Hong Kong-based gaming and hospitality operator, has announced the acquisition of 382 slot machines from RGB International Bhd for over $5.7 million (approximately 473.73 million rubles). The machines will be installed at the New Coast Hotel Manila, located in the capital of the Philippines, enhancing the hotel's existing portfolio of gaming equipment.
The Philippine subsidiary of International Entertainment, Marina Square Properties Inc., manages the hotel, which was previously known as the New World Manila Bay Hotel. The property features a casino operated by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor), the country's regulatory body and casino operator. The slot machines will be housed in areas leased from the regulator, with International Entertainment responsible for equipping the local casino, including the installation of the new machines.
The slot machines are set to be shipped from Sydney, Australia, with the first batch of 200 units expected to arrive within four to eight weeks following RGB's confirmation of the order. According to International Entertainment, a second shipment of 182 machines will follow in 12 to 18 weeks.
A spokesperson for International Entertainment commented, "Some of the existing slots have been in place for many years. To enhance the prestige of the entertainment offerings at the hotel, certain games may require upgrades, and some machines may need to be replaced."
The company also noted, "With the global easing of COVID-19 travel restrictions, the tourism industry in the Philippines is beginning to recover. The group is prepared to expand its slot machine offerings at the hotel to attract and serve a larger number of visitors, as well as to increase the group's revenue from gaming operations."
In related news, Canterbury Park Racetrack and Casino reported a revenue increase in the first quarter of 2023.
