Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) reported a significant surge in revenue for July 2025, with earnings from its entertainment complex reaching 38.99 billion won (approximately $2.25 billion). This figure represents a remarkable 102.8% increase compared to the same period in 2024 and is 12% higher than June's results, making July the most successful month in the company's history.
The primary driver of this growth was table games, which generated revenues of 35.34 billion won ($2.04 billion). This marks a staggering 113.4% year-on-year increase and an 11.9% rise from June. Such results indicate a sustained interest in the premium gaming sector and a high level of player engagement.
Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) is the largest operator of gaming establishments in South Korea, currently managing three entertainment complexes catering to foreign visitors, located in Seoul and Busan. The company operates under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and is seen as a key player in promoting inbound tourism and developing the gaming sector.
Slot machines also contributed to the company's overall success, with revenue from this segment reaching 3.65 billion won ($211 million). This figure is 36.9% higher than in July of the previous year and 13.6% above the previous month, indicating growth across all key business categories.
From January to July 2025, total casino revenue amounted to 248.85 billion won ($14.38 billion), reflecting a 17.5% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Revenue from table games during this timeframe reached 226.75 billion won ($13.1 billion), up 18.2%, while slot machine revenue also grew by 18.2%, totaling 22.1 billion won ($1.28 billion).
It is worth noting that GKL reported record profits in 2023.
