Evolution's operational revenue surged by 69% in the fourth quarter of 2021, resulting in an annual profit that exceeded €1 billion ($1.14 billion).
The significant demand for live casino games drove a 49% increase in this segment from October to December 2021, leading to a sharp rise in operational income and a continuation of steady growth for the online casino game developer. In fact, revenue from live titles accounted for approximately three-quarters of Evolution's total profit during the three-month period, generating over €237.4 million. Meanwhile, the company's other division, which focuses on random number generators (RNGs), also performed well, with revenue reaching €62.9 million—an increase of 9.4% compared to the previous year.
Gross income saw a substantial boost as well. The company reported significant growth both in the fourth quarter and throughout 2021. From October to December, net revenue exceeded €184 million, while the company's activities in the fourth quarter yielded profits of €300.2 million, and total revenue for the year approached €1.07 billion. Consequently, Evolution experienced a remarkable 90% growth in this statistical segment.
Evolution's CEO, Martin Carlesund, remarked, "The fourth quarter of 2021 delivered outstanding results. It reflects the strength of our business model and the value of our strategy focused on enhancing player experiences." He added, "Revenue growth continues to be driven by strong global demand for live casinos. However, the overall figures were also positively impacted by the income from our RNG segment."
Carlesund also noted that the company's portfolio of live games expanded by 300 tables throughout 2021, bringing the total to around 1,000 titles—marking the most significant addition to the developer's catalog. "This is a testament to the talent, skills, and determination that characterize the global Evolution team," he added.
The CEO further emphasized that the company's success is even more remarkable considering the additional challenges faced during the second year of the pandemic.
