Maryland's six largest casinos have released their financial reports for January 2024, revealing a combined revenue of $153.2 million from slot machines and table games (approximately 13.98 billion rubles).
According to a press release, the state's budget received $63.2 million (about 5.77 billion rubles) in tax contributions from casino operations in January 2024. These funds support various sectors of the economy, including the Education Trust Fund, community development, the Maryland horse racing industry, and small businesses.
The figures for January 2024 are comparable to those from January 2022, when gaming revenues reached $153.8 million (around 14 billion rubles) and state contributions totaled $62.5 million (approximately 5.7 billion rubles), which included $45.5 million (about 4.15 billion rubles) allocated to the Education Trust Fund.
The private casinos in Maryland that offer both slot machines and table games include MGM National Harbor, Live! Casino & Hotel, Horseshoe Casino Baltimore, Ocean Downs Casino, Hollywood Casino Perryville, and Rocky Gap Casino Resort.
A breakdown of gaming revenue for January 2024 by establishment shows that while the total casino revenue did not set any records, the Maryland gaming industry has demonstrated steady growth in recent months.
Meanwhile, the Marina Bay Sands resort reported earnings of $1.1 billion in the last quarter of 2023, driven by its casino operations.
