One of the world's leading developers of online casino gaming content, Microgaming, is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its headquarters relocation to the Isle of Man. To mark this significant milestone, the company has made 20 separate charitable donations to various organizations established and operating on the island. The Isle of Man has served as the base and headquarters for this gaming industry giant since the brand moved its main development center there in 2001.
Microgaming's CEO, John Coleman, commented on this important occasion: "This is a special year for all of us at Microgaming. I couldn't think of a more fitting way to celebrate 20 years on the Isle of Man than by supporting 20 great causes on the island. I take pride in our continued commitment to deepening our roots and playing an active role in the community through our PlayItForward initiative."
Through its corporate social responsibility program, PlayItForward, launched in 2014, Microgaming is supporting twenty organizations from various sectors of business and social activity this year. Notably, the developer has already provided assistance to a bowling club in Ramsey, a local primary school, a food bank, and a young man training to become a paramedic.
Since the launch of the initiative, Microgaming has donated approximately £2 million to corporate initiatives, arts support, and a wide range of community events on the Isle of Man. Overall, since 2001, the company has contributed over £3.5 million to charitable causes.
As part of its 20th-anniversary celebrations, Microgaming plans to create a "microforest" in the region's countryside, which will benefit wildlife and biodiversity for years to come. In collaboration with the Wildlife Fund, employees will plant 1,500 native trees in the southern part of the island this October, according to the developer's official website.
