Microgaming has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting responsible and fair gambling during the 2021 Responsible Gambling Week. The industry giant has expanded its charitable efforts to support various organizations dedicated to combating gambling addiction and providing treatment for those affected by it.
Through its own initiative, Microgaming Playitforward, the company has partnered with Betknowmore UK, a British provider of national responsible gambling training services. Microgaming has also extended its support to the Gordon Moody Association, which specializes in treating individuals with severe gambling addiction.
"The collaboration between Microgaming Playitforward and Betknowmore UK has enabled the development and implementation of new research and support initiatives focused on the harms of gambling, particularly as they relate to women. This is an under-resourced area, so it is only right that it is now receiving increased investment," said Frankie Graham, founder of Betknowmore UK.
John Coleman, CEO of Microgaming, commented on the initiative: "We proudly stand in solidarity with all sectors of our industry in support of Responsible Gambling Week, which features a calendar of events aimed at promoting the concept of responsible gambling. I am proud that we have been able to highlight the invaluable work of several charitable organizations involved in research, education, and treatment for gambling addiction."
Previously, as part of its responsible business policy, Microgaming sponsored a youth gambling project organized by MOM Motiv8 on the Isle of Man. The company also covered advertising costs for a month-long social campaign run by the independent British charity GamCare.
