NOVOMATIC, a major Austrian manufacturer of gaming products for land-based and online casinos, has reported its financial results for the first half of 2023. Revenue for the six-month period reached €1.58 billion (approximately 166 billion rubles), marking a 20% increase compared to the same period last year.
The company's EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) stood at €386.1 million (40.56 billion rubles), up 3.9% from 2022. Operating profit reached €197.8 million (20.8 billion rubles), reflecting a 22% year-on-year increase.
According to the report, NOVOMATIC also expanded its workforce. In the first half of 2022, the company employed 21,721 people. By the same period this year, the number of employees had risen by 13.2% to 24,590.
The analysis provided by the company indicates that the brand is experiencing robust growth across all its markets. The most significant increase was observed in NOVOMATIC's Italian operations, where revenue surged by €99.9 million (10.5 billion rubles). Following Italy, Germany saw a revenue increase of €49.4 million (5.19 billion rubles) compared to the first half of 2022. Operations in Eastern Europe contributed an additional €29.8 million (3.13 billion rubles) in revenue, while Austria reported an increase of €21.8 million (2.29 billion rubles). In the online sector, NOVOMATIC reported a profit increase of €21.7 million (2.28 billion rubles).
In the UK, NOVOMATIC's revenue rose by €12.6 million (1.3 billion rubles). The Netherlands and Spain also saw growth, with increases of €8 million (840.4 million rubles) and €5.2 million (546.3 million rubles), respectively.
The number of gaming devices produced by the company increased to 77,042, which is 3,555 more than in the same period last year. As of June 30, 2023, the number of leased gaming devices reached 142,159, an increase of 3,093 compared to the previous year. However, the number of units sold totaled 13,912, which is lower than in 2022.
