Great Canadian Entertainment, a Canadian company specializing in gaming and tourism, has announced the opening of the Pickering Casino Resort Hotel. Located just a short drive from downtown Toronto, the resort aims to enhance the guest experience in the near future.
The brand-new Pickering Casino Resort, which has an investment of CAD 500 million (USD 373 million), features a 96,000-square-foot casino, the Great Canadian Sportsbook, a 2,500-seat theater, event spaces, dining options, and flexible meeting areas.
Matthew Anfilson, the newly appointed CEO of Great Canadian Entertainment, stated, "Our company is committed to providing the best in entertainment across Canada. We are continuously enhancing the guest experience and will keep investing in the communities where our group operates."
The hotel offers rooms ranging from 388 to 775 square feet, designed in a residential style and equipped with amenities such as complimentary Wi-Fi, refrigerators, safes, and 55-inch smart TVs, along with secure parking.
Anfilson further remarked, "Pickering Casino Resort is a prime example of our vision to create multi-venue attractions that combine the best in hospitality, dining, and entertainment, generating over 1,000 jobs and providing significant economic benefits to the Durham region."
Situated just minutes from downtown Toronto, the Pickering Casino Resort is also an ideal venue for business events, complementing its upscale accommodations with spacious meeting facilities and modern conference technology.
The resort's casino features 2,200 slot machines, over 90 table games, and around 140 live dealer terminals. Additionally, the Great Canadian Sportsbook offers a dedicated space for sports betting, allowing fans to enjoy local and international sporting events while savoring food and drinks.
Inside the hotel, guests can dine at Sun Sui Wah, a seafood restaurant renowned in Vancouver for its warm hospitality and exquisite cuisine. Other dining options include the CA-SU-AL pub with a wide selection of local craft beers, Rock House Grill offering a variety of casual fare, and the Italian pizzeria ZIOs.
Five additional restaurants are set to open this winter, further elevating the culinary offerings at the resort, while a pool, fitness center, and 24-hour business center are expected to launch in the coming weeks.
