PENN Entertainment has announced the opening date for its new land-based Hollywood Casino Joliet, which is ahead of schedule by six months. If all necessary regulatory approvals are obtained, the venue will welcome guests starting August 11. This establishment will be one of two new casinos in the western and southwestern suburbs of Chicago.
Hollywood Casino Joliet will be located at 777 Hollywood Boulevard. The $185 million (₽14.72 billion) facility will feature approximately 1,000 slot machines, 43 live dealer tables (including a baccarat room), an ESPN BET sports betting point, a concert and exhibition center, and parking for 1,330 vehicles. The project will serve as a central component of the new multi-functional Run Rock Collection district.
In addition to gaming, significant attention has been given to the culinary offerings. Hollywood Casino Joliet will host Sorellina by Giada, the first restaurant from renowned chef Giada De Laurentiis. The menu will showcase traditional Italian recipes with a California twist, and the interior will be designed in a light and modern style.
"We are eagerly anticipating the moment we can open the doors of our new casino to guests. This is not just a move from a riverboat to land; it represents a new level of service and opportunities," said PENN Entertainment CEO Jay Snowden.
The casino will also feature establishments created in collaboration with well-known Chicago restaurateurs, including Lucky Goat, Antique Taco, Pretty Cool Ice Cream, and Five50 Pizza.
PENN also announced that it expects to secure approximately $130 million (₽10.34 billion) in funding from Gaming and Leisure Properties in the third quarter. These funds will help cover part of the construction costs for the facility.
Additionally, Penn Entertainment has reported the commencement of construction for a new gaming establishment, Hollywood Casino, in Iowa.
