The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has released financial figures for the gaming industry for the 2022-2023 fiscal year, reporting a record total gaming revenue of $5.5 billion (approximately 502.5 billion rubles). This surpasses the previous record of $5.04 billion (460.5 billion rubles at current exchange rates) set in the 2021-2022 fiscal year.
The increase in revenue has also led to a rise in tax contributions, which grew from $2.16 billion (over 197 billion rubles) to $2.3 billion (210 billion rubles), marking another new record.
For the 2022-2023 period, slot machines generated a total revenue of $2.5 billion (228.4 billion rubles), with the largest share coming from Parx Casino in Philadelphia, which reported $389.9 million (35.6 billion rubles). Meanwhile, revenue from table games reached $974 million (nearly 89 billion rubles), with Wind Creek Bethlehem leading this segment at $236.7 million (21.6 billion rubles).
The iGaming market also set a separate record, generating total revenue of $1.5 billion (137 billion rubles). Hollywood Casino in Grantville topped the charts with $648 million (59.2 billion rubles), followed by Rivers Casino Philadelphia with $330.8 million (30.2 billion rubles).
Sports betting revenue for the 2022-2023 fiscal year reached $491.9 million (almost 45 billion rubles), with Valley Forge Resort Casino in King of Prussia bringing in $255.4 million (23.3 billion rubles). This figure is more than double that of Hollywood Casino in Meadows, which reported $109.9 million (over 10 billion rubles).
Pennsylvania legalized gambling in 2010, and in its first fiscal year, the state's total gaming revenue was $2.8 billion (255.8 billion rubles at current exchange rates).
