Last week, elections and re-elections took place for the governing bodies of the Dutch gambling sector. Tiina Siltanen has been appointed as the Vice Chair of the European Casino Association, while Peter-Paul de Goy has been reappointed for another two years as the leading representative of the Netherlands Online Gambling Association (NOGA).
Peter-Paul de Goy commented, "I am pleased to be allowed to continue leading the organization in its development. The iGaming sector in the Netherlands is rapidly evolving, and it is crucial that we take responsibility and unite our efforts to enhance consumer protection and prevent gambling-related issues."
The Dutch iGaming landscape has seen significant developments recently, particularly following several years of delays before remote gambling was finally legalized in the country in 2021.
De Goy further stated, "I am confident that by working together and focusing on the safety and sustainability of the products offered in the iGaming sector, our organization can positively impact the gambling industry in the Netherlands and help create a more resilient sector for Dutch consumers."
The Dutch regulatory authority, Kansspelautoriteit (Ksa), has recently issued numerous warnings to operators regarding gambling advertisements and has imposed sanctions on several brands in recent months.
It has also been reported that Gaming Corps plans to enter the Dutch market following regulatory reviews.
