A group of gaming companies in the Philippines has announced the launch of the PlaySafe Alliance of the Philippines, a new industry initiative aimed at promoting responsible practices, enhancing oversight, and protecting casino users. This initiative comes amid increasing scrutiny from politicians and regulators as part of broader discussions about the future of the industry in the country.
The alliance will consist of 18 operators approved by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), along with a legal consulting firm. DigiPlus Interactive Corp., which manages platforms such as BingoPlus and ArenaPlus, will lead the coalition.
The formation of the alliance reflects a search for balance between the economic benefits of legalized online casinos and the potential social risks associated with them. DigiPlus emphasizes that both authorities and businesses are striving to find a compromise, and the launch of the alliance signifies the industry's collective commitment to act responsibly and enhance customer protection.
Eusebio Tan, Chairman of DigiPlus, stated, "This initiative is about collaboration, not competition. It is crucial to work together to keep online casinos operating in an open, safe, and beneficial manner for the country."
In addition to DigiPlus, other major operators have joined the Temporary Council of the alliance, including World Platinum Technologies, Trojans Well Entertainment, Gavin Ventures, and Jade Entertainment and Gaming Technologies. Early participants also include GoTech Entertainment, IGO Digital High Technology, and Silver Goose 8 International.
The alliance plans to establish strategic committees focused on key areas of operation. Experts will provide recommendations on a wide range of issues, from public health and regulation to the implementation of new financial technologies and consumer rights protection.
It is worth noting that PAGCOR recently reported record profits for the Philippine gaming industry in the first half of 2025.
