The American Gaming Association (AGA) has recognized Resorts World New York City as the most profitable commercial casino outside of Nevada in 2023. This information was released in the AGA's latest report on "Tracking Commercial Gaming Revenue."
According to AGA data, Resorts World New York City generated over $900 million in revenue last year, marking a 20% increase compared to 2022.
The report indicates that MGM National Harbor in Maryland secured the second spot for revenue outside of Nevada, with earnings exceeding $800 million, a more than 15% improvement from the previous year. Coming in third is Encore Boston Harbor, owned by Wynn Resorts Ltd., which reported revenues surpassing $700 million, also reflecting a growth of over 15% compared to 2022.
The AGA noted that 11 out of the 20 largest commercial casinos outside of Nevada and Mississippi experienced an increase in combined revenues from slot machines, table games, and sports betting. Financial results from tribal gaming establishments were not included in the report.
Resorts World New York City is located in Queens, approximately 4 miles from John F. Kennedy International Airport. The facility is operated by Genting Americas, a subsidiary of Malaysia's Genting Group, which manages casinos not only in the U.S. but also in Singapore, Malaysia, the UK, Egypt, and the Bahamas.
It is worth noting that 2023 marked a record year for the U.S. gaming industry, with total revenues reaching $66.5 billion.
