The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has released financial data for licensed operators in the state, revealing that total revenue from all forms of gaming, including fantasy contests, reached $464,488,191 last month (approximately 40.8 billion rubles). This marks an increase from $393 million (over 34.5 billion rubles) during the same period in 2022, reflecting a growth rate of 18.15%.
Notably, revenues from online slots and sports betting saw significant increases. In January, online slot machines generated 25.57% more revenue, totaling $90.2 million (over 7.9 billion rubles). Meanwhile, sports betting revenue rose by 22% compared to January of the previous year, reaching $39.3 million (3.35 billion rubles).
Retail slot revenue also increased last month, amounting to $202.2 million (over 17.7 billion rubles), which is a 20.07% rise from January 2022. Revenue from online table games reached $40 million (3.5 billion rubles), marking an almost 21% increase. Retail table games generated 7.27% more profit, totaling $83.9 million (around 7.4 billion rubles), while gaming terminals reported revenue growth to $3.3 million (approximately 290 million rubles), up 7.92% from January 2022.
According to the PGCB, total tax revenue generated from all forms of gambling last month amounted to $188.3 million (16.5 billion rubles), compared to $157.5 million (just over 13 billion rubles) during the same period in 2022.
Operators in the regulated market also reported revenue growth in January. Hollywood Casino Morgantown led the way with an impressive nearly 80% increase in property revenue last month, reaching $7.9 million (about 694 million rubles). Other notable growth was seen at Live! Casino Philadelphia (51.68%), Valley Forge Casino Resort (33.17%), and Hollywood Casino York (32.1%).
