Developers of the Golden Nugget Casino in Danville, Illinois, presented city officials with the first check for $1 million (approximately 84.7 million rubles) as part of a Community Host Agreement during a preview of the casino. This payment marks the initial installment of a total commitment of $3 million (around 254.3 million rubles), which will be allocated to a project aimed at enhancing the local waterfront.
During a tour of the still-under-construction gaming facility, guests were shown various features, including the main gaming floor, sports betting terminals, sports bars, a café, and the Saltgrass Steak House. The tour was led by Jimmy Wilmot, president of Danville Development, who is overseeing the project. He highlighted the casino's numerous windows designed to provide ample natural light. Wilmot also mentioned that the recruitment process is going well, with plans to hire around 100 dealers by the time of the opening.
The director stated that construction will continue, with the casino expected to open in the coming months. The gaming hall is already fully completed, and in the next few weeks, gaming machines and tables, as well as surveillance cameras and lighting fixtures, will be installed.
Once the gaming area is fully equipped, developers will move on to finalize the preparation of auxiliary facilities. The last step will involve resolving all licensing issues with the Illinois Gaming Board.
The official opening date of the establishment has yet to be announced. The gaming floor at the Danville Golden Nugget will feature up to 500 traditional and state-of-the-art video slot machines. Additionally, the casino will offer 14 Las Vegas-style table games, a sportsbook, online gaming, and betting on digital sports.
Meanwhile, a DraftKings sportsbook has opened at Boot Hill Casino & Resort.
