Nevis has officially entered the global iGaming arena. The government of the island has enacted legislation paving the way for a comprehensive licensing system for gaming platforms. While the regulations are still being finalized, the jurisdiction is already positioning itself as a stable, transparent, and attractive alternative for operators.
Licenses for Nevis Online Gaming will soon be available, with many operators already referring to it as the new "gold standard" in offshore regulation, a title previously held by Malta and the Isle of Man.
The authorities in Nevis have made it clear that this initiative is here to stay and is supported at the highest levels. Furthermore, it is part of a broader strategy to transform the island into one of the leading global hubs for iGaming. The Nevis government is focusing on responsive regulation, transparent procedures, and full compliance with international standards. This ambitious debut promises a stable, efficient, and trustworthy platform.
The B2C license covers all major verticals, including casinos, poker, sports betting, and lotteries. In the B2B format, licenses will be available for software providers, platforms, marketers, KYC services, and payment operators.
The cost of the license is set at €28,000 (approximately $30,000) per year, covering up to two domains. Operators can also add up to 40 additional URLs for an extra fee, provided they are directly owned by the operator.
The licensing process includes a comprehensive application, background checks on directors, shareholders, and ultimate beneficial owners, as well as assessments for compliance with AML policies and KYC standards.
This new system is being implemented by a regulator committed to transparency and efficiency. With clear procedures and support, Nevis aims to establish itself as a long-term and reliable player in the global iGaming industry.
Notably, the Curaçao Gaming Commission has also updated its licensing system for online casino operators.
