The Great Canadian Casino Resort is set to host the World Series of Poker Circuit for the first time in Toronto
The WSOP Circuit, in partnership with GGPoker, will run from March 22 to April 1, 2024. The event will feature a total of eight Circuit Ring tournaments, with a combined prize pool of $3.9 million CAD (approximately $2.9 million USD). Of this amount, $2.1 million CAD (nearly $1.6 million USD) will be allocated to the Main Event, while $850,000 CAD (over $640,000 USD) will be up for grabs in the high roller tournament.
Robert Katsavelos, CEO of Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto, expressed his excitement about the collaboration with GGPoker, stating, "We are thrilled to partner with GGPoker to bring the World Series of Poker to Toronto for the first time. This is a significant milestone that will provide a boost to our newly opened 30-table poker room at Great Canadian Toronto, the newest and largest casino resort in Canada. We look forward to welcoming tournament participants and representatives from the North American poker community here in Toronto. We are confident that this event will be a tremendous success."
Joining the tournament will be Daniel Negreanu, a poker legend from Toronto and brand ambassador for GGPoker. "I have been participating in WSOP tournaments around the world for over 25 years. There is something truly special about finally competing in my hometown," Negreanu remarked.
Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto is Canada's newest casino resort and one of the largest complexes in North America, featuring 800 slot machines and 175 table games. Guests can also take advantage of sports betting services and enjoy VIP gaming rooms.
