The Star Entertainment Group has unveiled artistic renderings of the Sky Deck, a crescent-shaped observation platform situated 100 meters above the Brisbane River. From this vantage point, visitors will enjoy sweeping views that stretch from the central business district to Moreton Bay and Mount Coot-tha. The company believes this makes the Sky Deck a must-see tourist attraction for the city.
The Sky Deck is part of the Queen’s Wharf Brisbane project, which has a budget of AUD 2.48 billion (approximately USD 1.6 billion). The project is being developed by a consortium led by The Star Entertainment Group, which also includes Hong Kong firms Chow Tai Fook Enterprises and Far East Consortium.
Robbie Cook, CEO of The Star Entertainment Group, stated, “The Sky Deck will be a centerpiece of the revolutionary AUD 3.6 billion riverside development. It will be a must-visit destination in Queensland, attracting millions of international and interstate visitors in the lead-up to the 2032 Summer Olympics. Importantly, it will also be a source of immense pride for the local community.”
“The Sky Deck will be the first of its kind in Brisbane. It will be open day and night, 365 days a year, accommodating up to 1,500 people. It will be the perfect venue for celebrating special occasions, inviting friends and family, or simply serving as a meeting spot for after-work drinks,” the CEO added.
The phased opening is set to begin at the end of 2023, with expectations that the new attraction will draw an additional 1.4 million tourists to Queensland each year. According to Cook, the Sky Deck “will compete with Australia’s most photographed landmarks, such as the Sydney Opera House and Melbourne’s laneways, offering stunning backdrops of Brisbane for photos and social media posts, both day and night.”
