The UK Gambling Commission has been awarded the title of "Great Place to Work."
The regulatory body has faced criticism for years, with calls for reform or even abolition. However, this award marks a significant boost to the UKGC's reputation.
The regulator earned this accolade for several reasons, including its approach to hybrid working, effective use of technology, and the implementation of various events and digital initiatives aimed at fostering employee engagement and enhancing the workplace environment across the board. Additionally, the UKGC has made substantial efforts in data collection and the effective application of this information within various internal programs and initiatives. This approach has significantly improved the Commission's efficiency and competence.
UKGC Director Andrew Rhodes commented on the award, highlighting the hard work of all staff members at the Commission. He stated, "We take pride in putting people first and doing the right thing, with a particular focus on areas such as personal development. I am very pleased that over the past 12 months, we have been recognized as one of the best places to work in the country."
Great Place to Work is a global organization with a branch in the UK. Before awarding the UKGC, they conducted extensive analytical work. Evaluating hundreds of workplaces and compiling a shortlist is a complex process that requires companies to meet a wide range of criteria.
In related news, a survey by the American Gaming Association (AGA) revealed that most leaders in the U.S. gambling industry remain optimistic about the future.
