The latest draw of the EuroMillions lottery has turned two more individuals into millionaires. Residents of Spain and the United Kingdom will share the main jackpot, which exceeds £123 million, with each winner set to receive 50% of the total. This means each lucky ticket holder will take home £61.7 million.
Interestingly, neither winner has yet come forward to claim their prize at the EuroMillions office, and their identities remain unknown. Andy Carter, senior winners' advisor for the National Lottery, believes they may not even be aware that they have become millionaires. He urges anyone who purchased a ticket for the latest draw to check their tickets. The winning combination was 5, 10, 19, 27, 30, with bonus numbers 5 and 6.
"Check everywhere. Look in your pockets, bags, and wallets, and don’t forget to check your car’s glove compartment. You might be the winner," Carter advised.
This is not the first time a EuroMillions jackpot has gone unclaimed after the winners were announced. Earlier this year, a £1 million jackpot drawn on January 16 also remains unclaimed.
In the event of a lost lottery ticket, EuroMillions has a specific procedure in place. A person who believes they are a winner can submit a written claim to the organization within 30 days of the draw. This document must detail all relevant information regarding the ticket purchase, including the approximate time, location, and specific point of sale. An investigation is then conducted based on this information. If sufficient evidence is found, the winner may be recognized even without the physical ticket.
Meanwhile, the opening of new casinos in New York is being delayed due to licensing issues.
